Does Florida KidCare qualify your household for a free phone?
Florida KidCare encompasses several programs, including Medicaid for children and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Important: Only the Medicaid portion of Florida KidCare qualifies a household for Lifeline. Standalone CHIP does not automatically qualify you.
If your child is receiving Medicaid through Florida KidCare, you can apply for a free Lifeline phone as the head of household using your child as the Benefit Qualifying Person (BQP). You will need to upload your child's official Medicaid award letter (showing their name) and a document proving you are their parent or legal guardian.
